Lack of Diversity and
Opportunities in Aviation
94% of the US aircraft pilots and flight engineers identify as white.
Less than 2% of pilots are African American and 7.2% are Latino
Minorities make up only 10% of the US aviation industry.
Discovery Flights
A discovery flight is an introductory flight lesson with a certified flight instructor. It is hands on and designed to inspire future pilots. The duration of the flight is usually 1 hour.
Each discovery flight costs $500-$1000 per student depending on the aircraft type. Upon completion, students will receive a Propel Youth flight back pack containing an official FAA logbook endorsed by their instructor.
